My mother tells a story about one of the neighbours who saw a wasp and said “pass auf das ist eine Biene, die setzt sich auf dein Marmeladenbrot und macht daraus Honig” (be careful, that’s a bee, she’ll sit on your jam and make honey out of it).
My grandfather knew a bit more about bees and also kept pigeons for a while. The sound of pigeons and doves always brings me back here. I must paint the couple which sits outside this house.
